Shani Grimmond is glowing in her workout gear. In a new social media post the Aussie influencer shows off her amazing body in a two-piece workout set during an outdoor workout session. She shared the image via her Instagram Stories. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.
In a YouTube video titled “What I Eat in a Day” Shani reveals that she is a fan of fasting. “Sometimes I do fast, but only when I find myself kind of out of whack with my eating routine. It is really important to not fast all the time because that can be really bad for you,” she says. According to Shani, fasting helps with a variety of things including weight loss, insulin sensitivity, metabolism, hunger, and eating patterns. “I would say I do it maybe once a week. Sometimes I do it more if I do feel like it. So obviously, this is something that you need to kind of adjust to your own body,” she says. “Also if you do fast for long periods of time, it is bad for you because your body obviously needs vitamins, minerals and nutrition, to stay healthy.”
“The first thing that I do is have some water. So it is recommended to have at least two cups when you wake up or a liter if you can,” she says, noting that “water fires up your metabolism.” and “hydrates you obviously because you’ve slept for eight hours or longer or however long, and that’s all that time going without any hydration. So you definitely need to do that in the morning.” It also helps your body “flush out toxins as well,” she says. “Sometimes I do like to have lemon water in the morning,” she adds, noting that the vitamin C offers additional benefits.
Shani relies on a nutrient dense protein smoothie for breakfast. “This is something that I have every single morning. It is delicious,” she says. She throws in a “handful” of blueberries, a banana (“you guys can use frozen banana if you want your smoothie to be more like a shake, like a frozen smoothie,” she says), two tablespoons of her “favorite protein ever,” powdered greens, almond milk, and some toasted coconut flakes sprinkled over the top “as a little treat,” she says.
For lunch, Shani enjoys “a really, really big salad,” with tuna, lettuce, cheese, salt and pepper, cucumber, beetroot, and corn. “The thing that I love about this salad as well is it literally takes like five minutes to make.” She also has a protein bar, “something that I like to have when I don’t really have much time to like make snacks,” and wants to satiate her sweet tooth. And, for dinner she eats something different every day. One meal she likes is beef stir fry with Asian greens, spring onion, chili, ginger, garlic, and broccoli. She eats it with a little bit of rice.
“Now it’s time to get the body moving. So if you can try and at least get 30 minutes of exercise in in the morning, it’s an amazing way to wake yourself up. And I like to do that before I eat,” she says. She does a nearly 2 mile “walk-slash-run” on her treadmill. “I always feel so much better after I work out,” she admits.
