Miranda Lambert Ripped Into Festival Crowd For Lack Of Attention

Miranda Lambert continues to be one of the most abrasive artists in country music. The 40-year-old singer and songwriter is not afraid to speak her mind, even if it rubs some people the wrong way.

She is especially quick to call out people who don’t give her their undivided attention at a show.

To Lambert’s credit, anyone who spends money to attend a concert should listen to the music. To the concertgoer’s credit, anyone who spends money on anything should be able to what he or she wants to do (within reason) after spending his or her money. It’s a dual-sided conversation.

Lambert obviously leans heavily toward the former over the latter. Two incidents took place almost one year apart to the date in which she stopped her show to address the behavior in the crowd.

On July 18, 2023, a group of fans in the pit were taking selfies. Pretty harmless. Lambert didn’t think so.

Instead of doing something fun like hopping in the back of the selfie, or simply ignoring it, she ripped them apart for not listening to the song. It was pretty awkward.

Lambert was in Montana for the Under the Big Sky festival this past weekend– July 13, 2024. The crowd was not as attentive as she would’ve liked. There was too much chatter.

Rather than playing through, Lambert stopped the show and pleaded for (demanded?) less conversation.

The behavior from the weekend split country music fans down the middle.

On one end, they understand that Miranda Lambert wants people to pay attention to her performance. She spent years of her life perfecting her craft and asked for her work to be fully appreciated.

On the other end, not everybody in the crowd in Montana was there to see Lambert. Festival days are long. She wasn’t playing one of her big hit sing-a-longs. People wanted to talk to their friends and family. They paid money to do whatever they please!
