The Killers Pause London Show to Watch England Win Euro Semi-Final

The Killers paused their Wednesday evening concert at The O2 Arena in London to show a very important event: England beating the Netherlands and qualifying for the Euro 2024 final.

After performing ten songs during their “Rebel Diamonds Tour,” The Killers stopped playing upon completing “A Dustland Fairytale.” On the big screen behind them, the band then broadcast the final four minutes of stoppage time between England and the Netherlands’ semi-final matchup. When England finally won 2-1, red and white confetti rained down on the audience — and to make the moment even sweeter for the British audience, The Killers kicked off “Mr. Brightside.”

The Killers have another stretch of tour dates coming up, including another show in London this evening and Mad Cool festival in Madrid this weekend. They head back to the US in early August for Lollapalooza, and will play a slew of North American dates through the summer and fall — including a hometown residency where they’ll play their 2004 album Hot Fuss in full. The England Men’s National Football Team, on the other hand, has one big game left — the Euro 2024 final against Spain, which goes down on Sunday, July 14th at 3:00 p.m. EST in Berlin.

Meanwhile, Brandon Flowers of The Killers recently appeared on the finale of Consequence’Story Behind the Song podcast to break down “All These Things That I’ve Done” in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Hot Fuss. Listen below.
