Ghost Announce Online Global Premiere Of Debut Feature Film ‘Rite Here Rite Now’

Ghost have shared the news that their debut feature film ‘Rite Here Rite Now’ will premiere globally online via Veeps on July 20.

After launching in cinemas globally from June 20-23, ‘Rite Here Rite Now’ will be made available for fans all over the world via Joel and Benji Madden founded streaming service Veeps.

Alongside the film’s online premiere, the event will also feature an exclusive In Conversation with GHOST mastermind Tobias Forge, Co-Director Alex Ross Perry, and live director Jim Parsons captured at the film’s London premiere.

Taking place on July 20 at 12:00pm PT/8:00pm BST, tickets for the stream are priced at $19.99 (£18.64) and available now via this link.

Once purchased, fans can catch the event for two weeks after the initial air date, with a 48-hour rewatch period after ticket purchase.

Last month, Rock Sound attended the world premiere of ‘Rite Here Rite Now’ in London where we caught up with Tobias Forge, Alex Ross Perry, and some famous fans of GHOST.

Speaking to the project’s puppet master Tobias Forge, we found out more about the process of creating the band’s first feature film:

“As fun as it is, it’s also draining. I’m used to working towards deadlines, but filmmaking is definitely a lot.”

“We’ve been zoning in on this date for the last nine months, so it feels like a giant relief. At points during the making of the film, there was a sense of urgency, especially for everyone who had to answer to someone… now we’re finally here, against all odds.”

Creeper‘s Will Gould also told us:

“It smashes the glass ceiling a little bit for rock and metal bands to see a band do something of this scale.”

“When we first started Creeper years ago, one of the main things we were talking about was putting thrills back into punk rock… it’s exciting to see bands doing bigger and bigger stuff.”

Shot over the course of GHOST’s two sold-out shows at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum, the film fully immerses viewers in the technicolor melodrama of the vaunted live ritual that has helped to propel the band to their stardom.

But it’s also much more than a mere concert movie, with a narrative story that picks up plot threads from the band’s long-running Chapters series, featuring renditions of favourites from all five of Ghost’s albums, as well as previously unreleased track ‘The Future Is A Foreign Land’.
