Ellen DeGeneres has confirmed she’s “done” with fame and will be exiting the spotlight after the conclusion of her final standup tour (get tickets here) and its accompanying Netflix special.
As reported by SFGate, DeGeneres was asked by a fan whether we would be seeing her “on Broadway or movies” during an audience Q&A at her show in Santa Rosa last week. “This is the last time you’re going to see me,” she bluntly replied. “After my Netflix special, I’m done.”

Another fan apparently “begged” DeGeneres to reprise her role as Dory in the Finding Nemo series, but she held steadfast by saying, “No, I’m going bye-bye, remember.”
Throughout the “Ellen’s Last Stand… Up” tour, DeGeneres has been addressing the allegations of a “toxic work environment” on the set of The Ellen DeGeneres Show that were exposed in a 2020 Buzzfeed report. In April, she broke her silence about the controversy, saying she “hated the way the show ended.”
However, DeGeneres has admitted to being an overly harsh boss during more recent shows. “I can be demanding and impatient and tough. I am a strong woman,” she said in Santa Rosa, insisting that she’s “not mean” because she never intended to hurt people.
“Ellen’s Last Stand… Up” tour continues through August 17th. If you’d like to catch her one last time, grab tickets here. Her Netflix special is slated to premiere later this year.
