Ask men — or women! — of a certain age and a certain musical taste and they’ll almost assuredly tell you that they had a crush on Paramore’s Hayley Williams at one stage or another (It’s me, hi, I’m Men of a Certain Age and Musical Taste, it’s me).
Founded in 2004, Paramore has been a fixture of the rock/pop-punk scene for two decades now, thanks in large part to Hayley Williams’ “generational” vocals.
This Spring, Williams and Paramore have been on tour with Taylor Swift for her The Eras Tour in Europe, making stops in cities such as Stockholm, Lisbon, Madrid, Lyon, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff, London, Dublin, Amsterdam, Zurich, Milan, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Munich, Warsaw, and Vienna.
Over the weekend, the tour was in London for a trio of shows at Wembley Stadium, and Williams — both playing with Paramore and signing with Swift — stole the show.

“Taylor Swift is fantastic But my god, Hayley Williams is a fuckin powerhouse. A vocalist for a generation. I’m not sure I’ll ever see better in my lifetime,” said one viral tweet about the duo’s performance at Wembley Stadium in London.
“It must be really eating at Taylor that she’s not the hottest, coolest, or most talented person on her own tour,” another music fan tweeted about the video of Williams dancing while covering Talking Heads’ “Burning Down the House.”
Luckily for Swift and her infamous ego, Paramore is only joining The Eras Tour for dates in May, June, July, and August, meaning that Williams will stop stealing her spotlight by the time summer is over.
After concluding the Wembley stint — which saw celebrities such as Tom Cruise, Paul McCartney, Anya Taylor-Joy, and many more in attendance — on Sunday, June 23, Swift and Williams will be heading to Dublin for another trio of shows at the Aviva Stadium.
