Montreal-based outfit Land of Talk has shared their electric and acoustic versions of the fan-favorite track ‘Magnetic Hill,’ from their forthcoming reissue.
Powell explains the meaning behind the song:
“‘Magnetic Hill’ is a song about the illusion of relationships. A magnetic hill, mystery hill, mystery spot, gravity road, or anti-gravity hill, is a place where the layout of the surrounding land produces an optical illusion, making a slight downhill slope appear to be an uphill slope.”
The expanded and remastered version of their beloved debut EP will be available on July 12th, 2024, via Saddle Creek in the U.S. and Canada and One Little Independent for the rest of the world.
Of the EP Powell says:
“I feel like I’m never going to be fully satisfied with anything I do, but having said that, I’m super proud of the whole EP. If that’s my legacy, I’m good.”
‘Magnetic Hill’ is available today. Applause Cheer Boo Hiss: The Definitive Edition reissue is set for release on July 12th via Saddle Creek/One Little Independent.
