INFLUENCER Nara Smith has been accused of stealing another content creator’s content.
The German influencer, who is based in the US, was recently accused of allegedly stealing content from content creator Onezwa Mbola, who still lives in South Africa.
According to several eagle-eyed fans, Smith’s content began to eerily mirror Mbola’s.
Mbola later addressed her fan’s concerns.
In a video uploaded to a different account, Mbola stated that she was annoyed that an unnamed female influencer had been stealing her content.
Mbola stated that Smith’s videos were altered just enough for Smith to claim that she was not infringing on her own content.
According to the content creator, once she took a break from TikTok, the US influencer then began allegedly stealing ideas from her YouTube.
” I have kept quiet for months,” Mbola stated adding that she would only vent about the situation to her close friends and boyfriend.
The social media influencer revealed that those closest to her have urged her to keep quiet as they feared Smith’s fans would attempt to cancel her.
Mbola stated that she would have been ok with Smith allegedly copying her videos, however, in South Africa, content creators are not paid for page views.
Since the video went viral with 2.2 million views, Smith promptly denied the charge, and claimed not to have ever engaged with Mbola’s content.
Despite the claim, One internet sleuth quickly found one interaction where Smith had commented on one of Mbola’s videos saying that her content “is so inspiring.”
