KATY Perry’s fans have blasted her comeback song, Woman’s World, after a snippet was leaked on Monday.
The singer, 39, is working on her sixth studio album after quitting American Idol to focus on her music.
A snippet from her new song was shared on Monday and Katy dropped a teaser on TikTok soon after.
The mother of one was seen mouthing the lyrics, “Sexy, confident. So intelligent. She is heaven-sent. So soft, so strong,” while dancing in a white crochet bikini.
She announced that the song will be released on July 11 and teased, “GET READY TO POP OFF.”
Critics were unimpressed with Katy‘s newest material, calling it “terrible” and “cringy.”
“The new snippet of Katy Perry’s latest single sounds like an autotuned Real Housewife release so kinda terrible and kinda camp,” one wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
“I was rooting for Katy but these lyrics are so dated it’s giving 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential campaign material. It’s over,” another added.
“New Katy Perry snippet is the worst thing I’ve ever heard,” a third posted.
“I cannot be the only one cringing at the title of the upcoming new Katy Perry song and then hearing the lyrics in the snippet and cringing even harder,” someone else commented.
“I wanted Katy Perry to bring back the fun of One of the Boys and Teenage Dream not the janky purposeful pop of Witness.”
“That Katy Perry song sounds like something they’d come up with for the Rupaul Finale song,” another critic joked.
“It’s SO BAD. And I was GAGGED with the single cover,” yet another user complained.
Others criticized Katy over rumors that she worked with producer Dr Luke on the song and album.
“The irony of having a song praising women but you’re working with Dr. Luke? Katy Perry I didn’t expect this from you,” one penned.
Kesha previously accused Dr Luke of sexually assaulting her. They settled their years-long lawsuit in 2023.

After a snippet of Katy’s song was leaked, Kesha posted “lol” on X, prompting some fans to think she was shading the Dark Horse singer.
Katy – who shares daughter Daisy, 3, with Orlando Bloom – quit American Idol after Season 22 to work on her new album.
Meghan Trainor, 30, recently revealed that she’d love to replace the singer as a judge.
“I’ve done every interview in the world and said that that is my dream job and I have emailed three awesome people who work in that world,” she said on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen last week.
Host Ryan Seacrest previously said that Meghan would be a great fit for the show.
Katy was a coach alongside Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie in the music competition.
