Mishael Morgan is a very successful actress. She’s best known for her role in The Young & The Restless. In 2022, Morgan became the first black woman to win the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Last month, Morgan shared a selfie on Instagram of herself in workout gear. She captioned the post, “Did not wanna hit the weights this morning, but it’s done and I feel so good! Go get it.” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Mishael Morgan stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.
Morgan shared some of her favorite things in an interview with Soap Opera Digest. In it, she also revealed her favorite workout. “HIIT, which stands for high-intensity interval training. It’s the only exercise program that works for my body. I love this workout because it’s fast and motivating and gives the maximum burn.”
Morgan doesn’t put pressure on herself to be perfect. She talked about this in the caption of this Instagram post. “There is beauty in the imperfections of our lives. Easter kinda snuck up on me this year and I had the most last minute Easter dinner of my life. It felt chaotic and crazy, but everyone including the kiddos pitched in. When I took a breath and looked around, I thought nothing was planned, but it’s just so beautiful. Definitely one for the memory books.“
Morgan likes to swim to stay in shape. In this Instagram post from a vacation, she is seen wading in the water. According to The Mayo Clinic, swimming has a lot of benefits. “Aquatic exercise is a fun way to focus on fitness in a gravity-reduced environment. The buoyancy of water is easier on the body and provides support for people with weakness, balance problems or pain. Additionally, the viscosity of water slows movement and provides resistance during exercise, making aquatic exercise a great workout.“
Morgan also likes to go for hikes. In the previous Instagram post, she was seen hiking with friends. The National Parks Service states that hiking doesn’t just have physical benefits, but mental ones. “Being in nature can boost your mood and improve mental health. Spending quality time in the great outdoors reduces stress, calms anxiety, and can lead to a lower risk of depression, according to a study done by researchers at Stanford University. In addition to having mental health benefits, being outdoors opens up your senses to your surroundings and improves your sensory perception. Taking in the sights, smells, and feelings of nature has so many health benefits it can even be prescribed by a doctor.”
As you can see from her Instagram post, Morgan likes to weight train. Beaumont states that weight training has a lot of benefits. “Strength training helps you lose weight and keep it off by building muscle tissue. The more muscle mass you have, the higher your metabolic rate tends to be. More muscle also helps your body burn more fat than muscle, which is important if you want to lose weight and keep your strength. So, if you build muscle, you can speed up your metabolism and burn more fat when you exercise. The faster your body burns calories, the more calories it will burn each day.”
