42 Dugg Delivers Video for New Track “Soon” f/ Arabian

42 Dugg isn’t letting his legal troubles hinder his music releases.

On Friday, the Detroit rapper gifted fans with his Arabian-assisted track “Soon” and its official video. The piano-drive record finds Dugg reflecting on his come-up, a troubled romantic relationship, and his optimistic outlook.

“Soon, I’ll be backin’ my myself/ Soon, I’ll need nobody else,” he and Arabian sing in the chorus. “Who’s gonna be there for me when I need?/Help me live, fulfill my dreams.”

The introspective lyrics can be applied to Dugg’s current legal woes. The 26-year-old artist was arrested in Michigan earlier this month after failing to turn himself in to a federal prison camp. Dugg was scheduled to surrender back in April, when he would begin serving a six-month prison sentence for weapons-related charges. Though he’s currently being held without bond, Dugg used his new video to reassure fans he’d be home “soon.”

You can stream “Soon” now on all major platforms; and watch its black-and-white visual, directed by Rari Digital, via YouTube above. It remains unclear if the record is a stand-alone cut or part of an upcoming project.

The track arrives six weeks after Dugg released Last Ones Left, his joint mixtape with EST Gee.
