For this year’s mid-year report, I wanted to hear from you all, the lovely folks who read this column. After all, I get to share my thoughts on what I’m listening to and loving every single week, so the middle point of 2024 felt like the perfect time to flip the script.
I was so excited by the response to the first-ever Fan Chant Reader Poll, and absolutely plan to do more things like this in the future. It’s been so fun not just to see how people have been reacting to new releases, but also to get to discover some new music to add to my rotation (hello, ARTMS and TWS).
So, without further ado, please enjoy this year’s reader-voted roundup of the best k-pop releases of 2024 so far, from underrated albums and must-hear singles to the best music videos and verses that have graced our phones. I hope you enjoy seeing the results as much as I enjoyed seeing them roll in!

Favorite Girl Group Release:
Reader Results: There were two songs that actually tied for a favorite release by a girl group here in 2024. One was ITZY’s “Untouchable,” and the other aligned with my personal pick — KISS OF LIFE’S “MIDAS TOUCH,” which was also included on our site-wide list of the 100 best songs of the year so far.
Honorable Mentions: LE SSERAFIM appeared multiple times in the results, with “SMART” and “EASY” both getting lots of love. NMIXX’s “Dash” was also a contender.
