A pair of camels escaped their enclosure at an Ohio theme park this week, leading to mass confusion on site. Videos of the park-goers fleeing from a potential trampling have now gone viral on social media.

The wild scene took place at Cedar Point on Tuesday night, and while no one was injured in the incident, it did provide a brief moment of fright for onlookers.

“No, no! This is not good!” someone can be heard saying as they watch one of the camels gallop up and down a park concourse, just skirting by a number of patrons.

Another social media user captured both of the Cedar Point escapees trotting throughout the area as nearby groups scampered for safety.

Visitors were certainly looking for a thrill upon arriving to the amusement park, but this likely wasn’t what they anticipated!

Luckily, nobody was hurt, and the camels were eventually corralled to be escorted back to their pins. The Cedar Point management team later released a statement on the incident.

“Last night, the camels decided to take an unplanned stroll just outside their home at The Barnyard,” said Cedar Point’s Tony Clark. “We’re looking into how they made it to the midway.”

The camels were somehow able to find their way out of the petting zoo area of the park, though that escape route is not yet known.

It’s far from the first case we’ve seen involving an animal on the loose.

In fact, earlier this week, a bucking bull hopped over a wall and into the crowd to escape the ring at an Oregon rodeo.

Amusement park Busch Gardens saw a similar scene in 2022 after an orangutan broke free from its enclosure, causing a portion of the venue to be evacuated.

Signs of an animal revolt?? Possibly!

In Cedar Point’s case, the camels weren’t able to do much damage before being contained. The park even had some fun with the getaway attempt with a post on Wednesday to remind followers of “what day it was.”

Patrons now have a funny story to tell about their unexpected visitors.
