The Big Apple event at the UN and the corresponding “Evening for the Ocean” reception brought musicians and artists to the forefront, including Louis Cato, recording artist and the bandleader of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Also featured were Lomijoh and Giselle World and Former UN World Oceans Day performers, EarthGang attended as well. Adding the musical offerings, the instrumental band, City of the Sun played at the Concert of the Ocean. Scroll down to view photos
Opening his stage time, Cato shared, “In the opening video (narrated by Michael B. Jordan), they said that to protect the ocean – the beating heart of our planet – we need to awaken new depths within our own hearts. I believe that music has a unique ability to elicit that type of awakening. It can transcend the ego and facilitate connection at the deepest levels of our humanity, allowing us to share real moments of enlightened elevation.”
