Due to her role in the recent season of American Horror Story — look at the monster you’ve created, Ryan Murphy! — Kim Kardashian appeared on the latest season of Variety‘s “Actors on Actors” series alongside veteran actress Chloe Sevigny.
In typical Kim Kardashian fashion, the 43-year-old social media influencer made a wildly tone-deaf comment while reminiscing about the glory days of Beverely Hills.
Speaking about the 1989 film Troop Beverly Hills, Kardashian — striking a nostalgic tone — bemoaned the fact that you can no longer “drive down in a Rolls Royce in Beverly Hills these days, you know, all the shopping bags out, you’d get robbed.”
One of the most viral responses to the video, which has over 1.6 million views, says that Kardashian has no “couth, self-awareness or range.”
Another common response was to feel sorry for Sevigny having to be put through this, as she’s an Academy Award-nominated actress who has been in the business for decades and takes her work far more seriously than being put in a room with Kardashian deserves.
Many also joked that Sevigny deserves even further acclaim and awards for acting like she was interested in anything Kardashian was saying.
“Chloe deserves several Pscars for acting like this conversation was even minimally interesting,” said a viral post.
Sevigny, who made her acting debut in the 1995 film Kids, was appearing on Variety’s Actors on Actors series to promote her new FX series Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans, which was also created by Ryan Murphy.
Sevigny has worked with Murphy in the past as she starred in both American Horror Story: Asylum in 2012 (the best season of the series) and American Horror Story: Hotel in 2015.
Prior to starring American Horror Story: Delicate, Kardashian had only made cameos as herself and starred in reality television. Murphy is also making her the lead of another upcoming series that’ll see her star as the owner of an all-female law firm.
