Where to buy tickets, new dates

The Dead keep on truckin’.

Dead and Company featuring John Mayer just announced they will play an additional six concerts as part of their ongoing ‘Dead Forever’ residency at Las Vegas’ Sphere this August.

Their new shows will take place Aug. 1-3 and 8-10.

“We’re having a ball at Sphere Vegas, so let’s keep it going! See you for two additional weekends in August,” the group shared via Instagram.

This residency, which began on May 16, has seen the famously unpredictable Dead tread familiar territory and mix up their set lists at all shows, according to Set List FM.

It also comes on the heels of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band’s 2023 farewell tour. Up until January 31, the Dead appeared to be done with live shows. That was until they shared an Instagram post that read “In 2023, Dead & Company played their final tour,” the band wrote. “But there are other ways to make sure the music never stops. And it’s gonna be a ball.”

Dead and Company concert review

Last summer, the NY Post’s resident Deadhead Ryan Murphy saw Dead and Co. at Citi Field.

“They kept it all about the music and their farewell over the course of their four-hour set,” Murphy noted.

Huge jam bands on tour in 2024

Dead and Company essentially created the template for freewheeling, improvisatory rock back in the ’60s.

Over the years, many acts have followed their lead and created their own version of the “no two set lists are the same” spectacle.

Here are just five of our favorites you won’t want to miss live this year.

• Phish

• Dave Matthews Band

• String Cheese Incident

• moe.

• Widespread Panic
