Today, May 23, DJ, producer and all-around club innovator LP Giobbi has released “Feel,” a new single in collaboration with U.K.-based R&B singer-songwriter Jacob Banks. The distinctive new track pairs Banks’ soulful vocals with Giobbi’s twinkling, emotive piano-driven backbeat, furling out from this contemplative core like a lotus in bloom from its bubbly, thumping drop. With soaring strings, a shuffling drum loop and clipped guitar slaps, Giobbi progressively adds and strips away layers of electronic and organic instrumentation to cultivate a richly textured journey into the heart of the groove–just in time for summer. “Feel” follows a number of notable releases, including collaborations with Taylor Swift, Calvin Harris, Diplo, Portugal. The Man and many more.
“Getting to collaborate with artists outside of the dance space is always amazing, but to be able to work with Jacob Banks was a dream come true,” LP Giobbi shares on her new offering and collaborator. “His voice transcends genres and it allowed me to really get creative when building the track around his vocals. A new chapter starts now, I hope you enjoy!”
Rapidly rising for her fresh remixes and original compositions alike, Giobbi has made a splash at festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Tomorrowland and Electric Forest, gracing stages alongside artists like Dead & Co., Black Coffee, Fatboy Slim, Diplo and Sofi Tukker. This summer, LP Giobbi will continue her race-pace festival sprint with bookings at Detroit’s Movement Festival and a following afterparty on May 25, Kappa Futur in Torino, Italy on July 5, Sziget Festival in Budapest, Hungary and WhoMadeWho Festival the following day, Aug. 9, in Copenhagen, Denmark. In early 2025, Giobbi will set sail with Jam Cruise, from Feb. 14-19.
Scattered amid her jam-packed festival schedule, Giobbi will continue to present her Dead House events, which incorporate the melodies of the Grateful Dead into anthemic, dance-forward house sets. Debuted in 2022, Dead House culminates a lifetime of appreciation for and involvement with all things Grateful Dead; her parents were massive fans, and the band inspired her earliest love for music; fans can experience the mash-up for themselves at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on May 18.
This passion came to a new peak in 2023, when Giobbi remixed Jerry Garcia’s self-titled 1973 solo debut album to celebrate the record’s 50th anniversary. The same year, Giobbi brought Dead House to official Dead & Company afterparties across the country. In all her venture’s Giobbi’s music follows the Dead’s influential improvisation as a North Star—with pride and poise, the artist terms herself “a one-woman jam band.”
