Tips for buying tickets
The U.S. Sun’s top ticket-buying tips
Snagging tickets to one of your favorite artist’s concert can be stressful.
To alleviate some of that stress, The U.S. Sun has compiled a set of top tips and strategies to enhance your prospects of securing those vital concert tickets:
- Presales
- Presale tickets give fans the opportunity to buy tickets before they are made available to the general public.
- There are several methods to gain access to presale tickets. These include subscribing to an artist’s mailing list or purchasing their latest album in order to get a specific presale code needed to access the sale.
- Access may also be granted through network providers, such as Verizon, or even banks, like Chase or American Express, along with event organizers like Live Nation.
- Event organizers like Live Nation typically notify subscribers about upcoming presales via email alerts.
- Following artists on social media platforms is often the most effective way to stay informed about presale opportunities.
- Queues
- If you’re unsuccessful within the first 3-4 minutes, your next best opportunity is around the 7-8 minute mark, as this is typically the duration for purchasing, with similar intervals thereafter.
- Don’t lose hope if it appears sold out initially. Ticket availability may fluctuate, possibly due to Ticketmaster releasing tickets in small batches or from failed purchases.
- Familiarize yourself with the seating chart beforehand and decide on your preferred seats. Quick decision-making is crucial once you gain access.
- If attending is your primary goal, aim for seats in the middle of a section rather than the best available. In the list view, choose seats further down, as many people tend to click on the first options they see.
- Have any access codes copied to your clipboard for quick pasting rather than manual typing.
- Ensure you’ve logged in ahead of time with a payment method set up in your account for quick and easy checkout
