Elon Musk today may be transforming transportation and exploring new frontiers in space, but in college, he was lighting up a different scene entirely: his university campus rave culture.
When the “Don’t Doubt ur Vibe” producer found his student rental budget looking a little too tight, he devised a plan that combined his entrepreneurial flair with his passion for electronic dance music. Long before his SpaceX rockets blasted into orbit or Tesla cars zipped through city streets, Musk was moonlighting as the mastermind behind a unique college nightclub alongside The Founder Institute CEO Adeo Ressi, his University of Pennsylvania roommate at the time.
Musk’s affinity for dance music inspired the audacious move of transforming his house into a DIY dance club, where he charged fellow students a $5 entry fee to help pay rent, he revealed in a thread on X. Little did those clubbers know they were getting a taste of the visionary spirit that would one day drive his paradigm-shifting innovations.
The anecdote came from DogeDesigner, who said Musk “converted his house into a nightclub” to afford rent before the tech titan replied and confirmed it. Check out the post below.
Yup, with @adeoressi
