Ice Spice is back with her latest single, “Gimmie a Light.”
Produced by longtime collaborator RiotUSA around a sample of Sean Paul’s song by the same name, “Gimmie a Light” features an upbeat, hard-hitting arrangement, which serves as a perfect platform for Ice Spice’s rip-roaring flow. She first debuted the song live at Coachella 2024.
“Gimmie a Light” is the second release by Ice Spice this year, following January’s “Think U the Shit (Fart).” Both songs arrive ahead of her forthcoming debut studio album, Y2K, due sometime later this year.
Meanwhile, Ice Spice is keeping up her momentum after appearing on two of the best songs of 2023 (Pinkpantheress’ “Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2” and her own “In Ha Mood”). Beyond the upcoming album release, she’s booked to play at the 2024 iteration of Open’er Festival in Poland alongside Doja Cat, Sam Smith, and more (grab tickets here).
In April, it was announced that Ice Spice will make her acting debut as part of the cast for Spike Lee’s upcoming film, High and Low, a remake of Akria Kurosawa’s 1963 original. Denzel Washington is set to star.
