System Of A Down’s Serj Tankian has announced a solo EP, and teased heavy new track ‘A.F. Day’.
The new single is set to land May 17 via Gibson Records, with the accompanying EP ‘Foundations’ due to land in the autumn.
Speaking about the new track and how it came together, Serj has revealed:
“This is a song I wrote in the early days of SOAD that I never released. The majority of the instrumentation and vocals are recordings from that time.
“Dystopian in mood, it’s a reflection of the angst and anti-authoritarian attitude I had to conformity.”

The announcement of new solo work comes amid a busy year for Serj, who is set to release his memoir ‘Down With The System’ in just a matter of weeks, on May 14.
System Of A Down, meanwhile, are by no means keeping quiet either, with the legendary outfit having recently announced a co-headline show with Deftones at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.
They will be joined by The Mars Volta, Viagra Boys and VOWWS for the sold-out show.
