‘Planetarium,’ is a dreamy composition featuring backing vocals by Eric D. Johnson (Bonny Light Horseman/Fruit Bats) and Anna Tivel.
Accompanied by a charming animated video created by singer/songwriter Eric Earley, ‘Planetarium’ is a mesmerizing journey that explores themes of self-discovery and surrendering to the impermanence of life.
Reflecting on the song’s inspiration, Earley shares:
“‘Planetarium’ is a song that for me resonates on so many planes, chronicling my journey through therapy and beyond. It’s a love song at heart about learning to surrender to the flow and impermanence of all things. I was honored to have Eric sing and play banjo on this track. He’s a touring buddy from way back and his voice and plucky claw-hammer brings it all back home while Anna’s violin just sings.”
The single serves as a precursor to Blitzen Trapper’s upcoming album, 100’s of 1000’s, Millions of Billions, set to be released on May 17, 2024, via Yep Roc Records. Following the album’s release, Blitzen Trapper will embark on a U.S. tour, kicking off with a hometown show in Portland, OR, on May 17.
Listen to ‘Planetarium,’ out now on all streaming services.
