A DOG trainer has revealed three breeds he would never recommend to first time owners.
Elijah Boateng shared his list of pooch no no’s via a video posted to the TikTok account for his training business, @apexdogtraining.
The first dog that Elijah said first time owners should steer clear from is a Beagle.
He explained that the dog is very “cheeky” and will have their nose on the ground 24/7 as they are scent detection dogs and are extremely independent.
The second dog he believes first timers should stay away from is a German Shorthaired Pointer.
He said: “To be honest, this is just a lot of dog for a first time dog owner.”
Elijah revealed that the next dog he thinks first time owner should avoid is an American Staffordshire Terrier.
The dog trainer explained that these dogs are very big and strong, and can be very dangerous if it is handled by inexperienced owners.
Elijah warned people away from purchasing a Livestock Guardian Dog such as a Great Pyrenees or a Bernese Mountain Dog, unless they live on a farm.
He said: “If you get a Livestock Guardian Dog and you do not live on a farm, you are clinically insane.
“Please don’t do that to the world”.
The final dog on Elijah’s list is the German Shephard.
The dog trainer explained that the dog is “beautiful” and “majestic” and doesn’t deserve an owner that is inexperienced.
Elijah’s video has likely left many people impressed, as it has racked up over 50,000 views on the video sharing platform.
TikTok users raced to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts and some disagreed with Elijah’s advice.
One person said: “You have no idea how many people I have advised not to get a Beagle as novice owner.
