Over the weekend, comedian and actor Nick Swardson was removed from the stage during a show in Colorado for allegedly being too drunk to perform.
According to those in attendance, Swardson was “incoherent” and “bombed out of his mind” during his set at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek, Colorado.
After about 20 minutes, Swardson’s mic was turned off, as was the stage spotlight, before somebody came on stage to get him off.
The venue sent an email to customers saying they would refund them, while Swardon posted the following statement on Twitter about the ordeal.
“Just casually woke up on TMZ. Travel tip: don’t drink and take edibles in high altitude. F—— brain diarrhea. I’ll make it up to you Beaver Creek!” Swardson tweeted on Monday afternoon after news of his disastrous set began to make headlines.
“We apologize for the negative experience you may have had at this evening’s performance with Nick Swardson. Unfortunately, this show did not meet the Vilar Performing Arts Center’s standards as a world-class presenter of the performing arts,” the Vilar Performing Arts Center said in an email to its customers.
“Therefore, all tickets will be refunded to the original payment method. Please accept our sincere apologies, and be in touch if there is anything we can do to further assist you.”
Swardson is perhaps best known for his film work alongside Adam Sandler, having appeared in more than 10 Sandler-starring projects, such as Click, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, You Don’t Mess with the Zohan, Bedtime Stories, Just Go with It, Jack and Jill, That’s My Boy, Grown Ups 2, Hotel Transylvania 2, The Ridiculous 6, The Do-Over, Sandy Wexler, and Leo.
Swardson is currently on a national comedy tour, with upcoming dates in Colorado, New york, Florida, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Ohio, Nebraska, Texas, California, Utah, and even Canada, according to his website.
