THESE ’90s stars have shocked fans with their recent transformations.
After soaring to fame three decades ago, most of them, from actors to models, have gone on to live much more private lives.
It’s not uncommon for celebrities who are at the peak of their careers during a certain moment in time to later fall into obscurity.
Many ’90s stars have fallen away from the spotlight and in recent years emerged looking completely different, almost to the point they’re unrecognizable.
Others have continued to make occasional appearances in movies and shows.
Some stars look different thanks to surgeries, enhancements, weight changes, and aging.
Here are five once-private ’90s stars who have recently emerged unrecognizable.
TIFFANI THIESSEN
Tiffani Thiessen is best known for playing Kelly Kapowski on the ’90s series Saved By The Bell – as well as its spinoffs.
Saved By The Bell ran from 1989 to 1993 and movies followed that same decade.
Tiffani’s role on the show and Beverly Hills, 90210, cemented her as a teen idol of the ’90s.
She went on to act in other projects but had only minor roles in the early 2000s.
She was then featured on the show White Collar in the 2010s.
Tiffani, 50, recently reappeared in popular media when she starred as Kelly once again in the Peacock revival of Saved By The Bell.
Now, she lives a private life with her husband, actor and author Brady Smith, and their two children – Harper and Holt, who are rarely seen.
When the actress appears on talk shows and occasional roles now, fans are shocked by her unrecognizable looks because she has aged nearly 35 years from when she first skyrocketed to fame.
Tiffani still has the same piercing gray eyes and gorgeous smile.
However, her body has changed after birthing two children and entering middle age.
Tiffani was seen out in December with sweatpants and no makeup while running errands.
DANICA MCKELLAR
Danica McKellar’s most popular role was on The Wonder Years as Winnie Cooper from 1988 to 1993.
Nowadays, the actress is mostly starring in Hallmark movies.
She appears on other shows from time to time, but isn’t as known as she once was.
In July, Danica, 49, showed off her figure in a leopard-print bikini.
She looked much different than her The Wonder Years days during a trip with her family to Costa Rica.
Danica is still pretty active on social media but otherwise lives a private life with her husband, lawyer Scott Sveslosky.
They do not have any children together.
However, Scott has a child from his previous marriage and Danica had a son with her first husband, Mike Verta.
YASMINE BLEETH
Yasmine Bleeth has come a long way from running on the beach in a tiny bathing suit on Baywatch.
In May, the actress made a rare appearance in a baggy shirt and jogger pants.
She had no makeup on except for red lipstick and her brown hair was unkempt and blowing in the wind.
The actress has a fuller figure now than when she was on the iconic show.
The former Baywatch star has rarely been seen in public over the past two-and-a-half years.
Yasmine faced struggles in her personal life when her career fell apart due to substance abuse issues.
She was arrested in 2001 after driving her car off the highway into a median strip on Interstate 94.
The 55-year-old has not acted since 2003.
Yasmine looks completely unrecognizable in 2022.
She currently lives a quiet life with her husband, businessman Paul Cerrito.
They do not have any children.
HEATHER LOCKLEAR
Heather Locklear has had a pretty turbulent life.
She was once an A-list star, most known for playing Amanda Woodward on Melrose Place from 1993 to 1999.
Heather, 62, also starred in Spin City, The Perfect Man, Wayne’s World 2, and more.
However, her last role was in a 2021 Lifetime movie called Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff: The Kristine Carlson Story.
Her A-list status has been downgraded in recent years as she has struggled with rehab, failed marriages, and arrests.
Heather may be one of the most different-looking ’90s stars today.
The actress has appeared disheveled many times in public in recent years.
Heather is currently single but has been married to Tommy Lee and Richie Sambora in the past.
Ava, 26, is the daughter of Heather and Richie.
BRIDGET FONDA
Bridget Fonda was at the height of her career in the ’90s.
Some of the films that she starred in were The Godfather Part III, Single White Female, Singles, Point of No Return, It Could Happen to You, City Hall, Jackie Brown, A Simple Plan, Lake Placid, and Kiss of the Dragon, among others.
Every actor has their peak and their fall.
Bridget’s last role was in the 2002 TV movie, Snow Queen.
After her engagement to Oingo Boingo frontman Danny Elfman and a car crash that fractured her vertebra, Bridget quit acting and focused on her family.
Danny and Bridget, 60, married in November 2003, and had a son in 2005.
Bridget lives such a quiet life that she doesn’t even have social media.
The former actress made a rare appearance out in April 2023.
She had put on some weight, wore glasses, and had graying hair, looking completely different from her prime in the ’90s.
The reclusive actress was seen at a landscaping supply store in baggy clothing and a messy ponytail.
