A BEAUTY whizz has affirmed her love of rubbing banana peels over her face – and claimed it works just as well as botox.
Nadine Balagot is 37-years-old but often told she looks “two decades younger” thanks to her glowing and crease-free complexion.
The influencer believes it’s all down to her natural and organic approach to skincare.
In lieu of anti-wrinkle injections, which paralyse muscles in the face to stop lines from forming, she rubs the inside of a banana peel over cleansed skin.
Nadina dubs the hack a “banana peel scrub”.
“Banana peel scrubs work,” she penned on Instagram.
“It hydrates, tightens and reduces inflammation.
“It’s so inexpensive and healthy for you.”
She added over a video of her doing it: “When you’re 37 years old and do banana peel scrubs instead of botox.”
Bananas are loaded with so many nutrients that strengthen and support our internal and external organs.
That’s why thousands of women are rubbing the peels on the skin after the hack went viral on TikTok in 2022.
There are no clinical studies to support the regular use of banana peels as an anti-ageing remedy, but women like Nadine still swear by the hack.
The influencer says that growing up in San Francisco Bay, US, meant she was “exposed to an alternative lifestyle”.
Among these things were eastern medicine, meditation, organic eating, “connecting with mother nature on a daily basis and constantly seeking balance”.
“My mission is to help you feel good and look good from the inside out without compromising your health,” Nadine penned on her now defunct blog, Natural Nadine.
“After my long journey to achieve better health, I realised that healing starts from within, which then manifests outwardly.
“The symptoms appearing externally are usually signs urging you to heal at the root cause internally.”
According to Sanctuary Medical Aesthetic Centre, banana peel won’t provide the dramatic wrinkle-reducing results that botox can.
However, the docs said “it probably won’t do any harm”.
