Croydon outfit Bears in Trees have shared the second single ahead of their upcoming album ‘How to Build an Ocean: Instructions’.
The self-proclaimed “dirtbag boyband” announced their new album earlier this year, with the LP set to land April 26 via I Sure Hope It Does.
As well as lead single ‘Things That Look Like Mistakes’, the album will feature brand-new track ‘Hot Chocolate’ – a single which veers slightly from the usual optimistic sound the band have honed, and into a more angst-ridden feeling.
The indie pop-rock track arrives with a video that even features a bit of choreography if you’re paying attention – have a watch and a listen below.
Describing what the track’s about and its coming-of-age life lesson, guitarist Nick Peters has shared:
“Up to a certain point in my life, every party/night out/ conversation felt like The Most Important Thing That Had Ever Happened and Will Ever Happen, Ever.
“This song is about letting go of that feeling, and realising that somethings are literally just fine how they are.”
In addition to the forthcoming album, the band are also heading out on a co-headline tour with The Happy Fits this spring.
