Alex G has announced a handful of US tour dates for summer 2024, coinciding with the mind-boggling news that the scrappy singer-songwriter has made the major label jump to RCA Records.
After his set at New York’s Governors Ball in June, Alex will be playing headline shows throughout August in cities including San Diego, Anaheim, Sacramento, Eugene, Spokane, and more, wrapping up with a show at Las Vegas’ House of Blues on August 22nd. These dates fill in Alex’s already noteworthy schedule, opening for Foo Fighters on some of their stadium shows.
Alex’s switch to RCA comes after an eight-year run with Domino Recording Company, via whom he released four studio albums: 2015’s Beach Music, 2017’s Rocket, 2019’s House of Sugar, and 2022’s God Save the Animals. Before that, he released his 2014 album DSU through Orchid Tapes, and before that, he was self-releasing a whole lot of music on Bandcamp. It might be a bit of a shock to longtime fans, but considering he’s collaborated with both Frank Ocean and Lil Yachty, and he’s opening for Foo Fighters, the major label move was likely inevitable.
General sale for Alex’s headlining shows begins next Friday, January 26th at 10:00 a.m. local via Ticketmaster, with artist pre-sale beginning at various time throughout the week depending on venue. You can sign up to be notified here.
