MARK Hanretty is back on our screens for the latest season of Dancing on Ice.
But what do we know about the Glasgow-born dancer and is he married? Here’s the lowdown.
Who is Mark Hanretty?
Mark is a 38-year-old professional skater and ice dancer from Glasgow.
As well as a skater, Mark is also a choreographer and Eurosport commentator.
He got into skating after watching Torvill and Dean return to compete in the 1994 Olympics in Norway.
The Scottish athlete previously represented the United Kingdom internationally.
Together with his partner Christina Chitwood, they won two bronze medals; one in 2008 and the other in 2010.
They also competed at the 2009 European Championships and placed 18th.
Mark has appeared in several of Dancing On Ice’s previous series.
In 2011, he was partnered with Loose Women host Nadia Sawalha who was eliminated in the first week.
The following year, the professional was paired with Rosemary Conley who was the sixth celebrity to be booted off.
In 2013, Mark had a go at the competition with labour politician Oona King but ended up suffering from a devastating accident.
Viewers at home watched in horror as he dislocated his shoulder ahead of his survival skate with Oona.
Backstage he had his arm popped back into place and went on to complete the routine – but the couple were still booted off the show.
His return to the show wasn’t until 2017 when he partnered up with Donna Air which saw them staying on the show until the seventh week.
When asked how he got involved in the show, Mark told Sport Aberdeen: “I got involved with Dancing on Ice when I was working with Christopher Dean as my choreographer.
“Christopher was due to choreograph my next competitive routine but instead, he helped me get a job on the ITV show.”

Is Mark Hanretty married?
Mark is married to skating coach Kathy.
He often refers to his beloved family as his “wee clan”.
The pair have two children together, Lukasz and Liola.
Kathy is an ice dance coach based in Nottinghamshire.
Who is Mark partnered with on Dancing on Ice?
Mark is partnered with former BBC Radio 1 presenter Adele Roberts.
Taking to his Instagram to announce the news, Mark wrote: “Got a special one! Skating with @adeleroberts this series and proud to be playing a tiny part in sharing her incredible example of resistance and strength.”
In October 2021, Adele announced that she was undergoing treatment for bowel cancer.
In June 2022, she announced she was cancer-free.
Adele joined the BBC in 2012 as part of the Radio 1 Xtra team, before moving to Radio 1 in 2015 to host the Early Breakfast Show.
In June, the BBC said she had “decided to leave”.
