Life was good — and the music was great.
Major rock bands like Green Day, Foo Fighters, Blink 182, Third Eye Blind and Red Hot Chili Peppers exploded onto the scene.
Hip-Hop icons Wu-Tang Clan, Busta Rhymes and Ice Cube blew up; singer-songwriters Madonna, Alanis Morrissette and Sarah McLachlan cemented their reputations as genre-defining superstars.
