Miranda Kerr is stepping into 2024 ready to pop! The pregnant model shared pictures of herself hiking in the desert with husband Evan Spiegel, her black workout gear emphasizing her adorable baby bump (she’s expecting baby number 4!). “Weekend adventures with my favorite travel partner ❤️,” she captioned the post. Kerr’s workout routine has changed since she turned 40—here’s what it looks like now, and what wellness means to the model.
Kerr embraces every aspect of the aging process. “I just turned 40 and I’m feeling great,” she tells Harper’s Bazaar. “Age is a privilege, and we need to try to change the outside opinion in the world of aging; there’s so much obsession with youth, but it’s important to really embrace getting older. My grandmother, who I feel was one of the most beautiful women, had that sparkle in her eye that lit up the room when she walked in. You didn’t notice her wrinkles because of the energy that she had. Beauty is so much more than just skin-deep, and when you’re comfortable in your own skin, and in your soul and spirit, that is what really shines through the most.”
Kerr’s workouts have changed with the years, with the model switching things up according to her needs. “Lately, I’ve been getting into weight training, which I really like,” she tells Harper’s Bazaar. “They say as you get older that weight training is important. I’ve been such a yogi and a Pilates girl my whole life that it’s nice to balance it a little more with weights, and a little bit of running as well. After exercising I really like having a cold shower. Even if it’s just turning the water to cold at the end, it really invigorates you. I also drink celery juice every morning, almost a liter. It hydrates you with electrolytes, is good for your kidney function and for digestion – it helps you have a movement in the morning. I have to get through my celery juice before I get to my coffee.”
Kerr makes a point of getting her bare feet on the earth when getting off a long-haul flight. “Being in nature ‘grounds’ me, and even just putting my bare feet in the grass helps,” she tells Net-a-Porter. “I love looking up through the trees – like those Ansel Adams tree photographs. Yoga also keeps me grounded, especially Kundalini yoga; I have it deep in my bones, as it’s consistently been really helpful for me since I was 17. I also love to light palo santo – I find it very clearing and grounding.”
Kerr wakes up at 5am for a peaceful start to the day. “I try to do a little meditation and yoga, depending on how I feel,” she tells Harper’s Bazaar. “I’ve been meditating since I was 18. I’ve learnt Transcendental Meditation and Kriya Yoga Meditation, but sometimes I’m just too much in my head and so I need to put on an app. I use Insight Timer, which has different guided meditations, from a five- or 10-minute meditation or deeper ones which help if I can’t sleep.”
Kerr swears by dry brushing for beautiful skin. “I’ve been doing this for as long as I can remember – maybe since I was 18. I love the way it makes me feel so energized,” she tells Net-a-Porter. “I use the Kora Organics Turmeric Glow Foaming Cleanser in the shower; it’s really uplifting and wakes me up. When I’m out of the shower, I spritz on the Minty Mineral Hydration Mist – again, another way to wake me up. After that, I use the Noni Bright Vitamin C Serum, which has been a life-saver for me – after having three kids, my pigmentation had got really bad, but when I use it religiously, it completely brightens my skin.”
