Bryan Abasolo Breaks Silence On Split From Rachel Lindsay
Abasolo shared a statement on his Instagram page after we broke the news of his divorce from Rachel Lindsay. The former couple have been married since August 2019. However, they went their separate ways on December 31, 2023.
In his post, Abasolo noted that the decision to file for divorce was a “difficult” one and requested for privacy during this period.
He said, “If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I don’t like to put my personal affairs on social media and like to keep a safe space for our family. Many of you know me as a chiropractor, and also a husband, my proudest role so far. After more than 4 years of marriage, Rachel and I have made the difficult decision to part ways and start anew.”
“My parents have been married forever and I’m a family man, but sometimes loving yourself and your partner means you must let go,” Abasolo continued. “I wanted you to hear it from the source before the blogs start making up their own reality. Please respect the spaces of our family and friends as we figure out our next steps. Respectfully, Bryan.”
Abasolo is now requesting spousal support from his wife, Lindsay, according to the court documents obtained by The Blast. He also claims that their house in North Hollywood is a community property.
Lindsay and Abasolo have no children, so there shouldn’t be any court battle over child support.
The Couple Hardly Posted Each Other On Social Media
During an appearance on the Nick Viall podcast in December last year, Lindsay got very candid about her marriage to Abasolo, following rumors by fans that the pair had fallen out of love with each other.
The fan speculations were caused by the pair’s very private approach to their marriage and lack of sharing intimate moments with each other on social media.
“We don’t put ourselves out there at all [except] maybe an anniversary or a holiday [post here and there], but I think I did that because people were so critical of us when we came off the show,” Lindsay said at the time.
She added, “I just [was like], ‘I want to keep this for ourselves,’ and, you know, marriage has ups and downs, but you never know when we’re good or when we’re not because we never put it out there. I kind of want to keep it that way, so when I want to share something, I do.”
Rachel Lindsay Says She And Her Husband Lived ‘Different’ Lives
The reality TV star also emphasized how their jobs and activities keep them apart, noting that her now-estranged husband is a “sole practitioner,” while she now has more free time since she stopped doing Extra, which means she now attends a lot of events that keep them apart.
“Bryan is a sole practitioner [and] he leaves the house at 8. He comes home at 9 o’clock, 9:30 [at night] sometimes. It’s just him by himself,” Lindsay said at the time.
The TV personality continued, “Me, especially now that I’m not doing ‘Extra,’ I have a lot more free time … and then I’m back in hustle mode trying to get a second job, so I go to events. So, we’re just in two totally different places.”
