EACH year, the Kardashian sisters battle to show who has the most over-the-top festive decorations.
From Kylie Jenner‘s huge Christmas tree to Kourtney Kardashian‘s humble decorations, the family members pull out all the stops at their Los Angeles mansions.
This year, however, the competition has been complicated by a new arrival, which has also upended a long-standing family legacy.
Earlier this month, Khloe Kardashian announced that there will not be a family Christmas card this year.
The 39-year-old made a post on her Snapchat Story explaining why the tradition has ended.
Khloe wrote: “As our family grew it got a little trickier (anyone with kids knows how impossible it is to get multiple kids to look at the camera lol).
“And so we decided to leave that tradition in the past for now, but I’m all about taking as many photos as we can.”
In the post, the Good American founder used a version of the 2021 Christmas card featuring Kim Kardashian, 43, and their mother Kris Jenner, 68.
The photo also showed four of the Kardashian kids, and only one of them was looking at the camera.
However, just because the family cards may be canceled, the family has still gone all out on other aspects of the holiday.
KYLIE JENNER
Right at the start of the month, Kylie showed off the glowing lights strung around her 40-foot-tall tree.
Upscale Luxury then uploaded a short Instagram Reel on how the tree was decorated with holiday ornaments and bright lights.
At the end of the video, Kylie’s 5-year-old daughter Stormi marveled at the sight of the Christmas tree.
However, fans were distracted by the brownish, tube-like chandelier hanging from the ceiling.
In the comments section, critics trashed the hanging lamp and mocked the reality star for not paying attention to details.
“Expensive does not mean pretty, like that ugly lamp,” one user raged.
Another added: “A sad waste of time and energy. A beautiful thing ruined by a hideous lamp.”
“All that money, and you got a potato bag chandelier,” a third critic joked.
KOURTNEY KARDASHIAN
Kourtney showed off a humble Christmas tree at her $9 million home, as the star remains away from the spotlight after giving birth.
The Kardashians star has kept a low profile since welcoming her fourth child – her first with her husband, Travis Barker, 48 – last month.
Earlier this month, Kourtney posted a snap on her Instagram Stories of her simple spruce tree in the middle of her Los Angeles, California home.
The tree was covered with lit-up white lights, illuminating the entire room.
Despite the tree’s seemingly large size, it appeared to be very simply decorated as there weren’t any ornaments or other decorations on it.
Kourtney has stayed behind the camera lately with her social media posts as she settles into life as a mother of four.
The Hulu star gave birth to her son, Rocky Thirteen, on November 1 and has yet to introduce him to the world.
KIM KARDASHIAN
Kim flaunted her minimalist bathroom Christmas trees amid ongoing backlash regarding her holiday decorations.
The model has been mocked for her lackluster lights as some fans believe her home looks like a maximum security prison.
But that hasn’t stopped the 43-year-old from adding more decorations to the collection and sharing her progress on social media.
The reality star took to her Instagram profile to record a video of her walking into the master bathroom of her $60 million Hidden Hills mansion.
Just outside a glass window, the Skims founder had rows and rows of Christmas trees lined up with sparkling white lights that set the room aglow.
The mother of four walked through the bathroom while filming her minimal decor, playing the classic Charlie Brown song, Christmas Time Is Here.
Kim also added a photo of the holiday display, writing: “My Happy Place,” with a tree and sparkle emoji.
KHLOE KARDASHIAN
Khloe showed off the elaborate Christmas decorations inside her mansion as she continues to compete with her sisters.
The Hulu star took to her Instagram Stories to show off the over-the-top decor inside the dining room of her $17 million Hidden Hills mansion.
Khloe, 39, panned her massive dining table that featured a full-length piece of garland going down the center.
The gorgeous centerpiece was accompanied by various, dark-colored candles that were lit throughout.
The Good American founder then gave a peak at another table that was pushed up against the wall, which was decorated with a similar garland.
The long wreath of leaves was intertwined with twinkling white holiday lights and had a few decorative, shimmering Christmas trees placed around.
Khloe’s floor-to-ceiling Christmas tree could be seen in the background of the video, which was covered in sparkling white lights and neutral-toned ornaments.
Next to the tree, which was placed in the corner of the room, were animatronic white reindeer that moved their heads up and down.
KENDALL JENNER
Kendall got an early jump on the faux decorating contest, unveiling her home right on December 1.
The 28-year-old shared photos that captured the festively designed living room of her multi-million dollar home in Los Angeles, California.
Standing in the middle of the room was a large lit-up and fully-trimmed Christmas tree.
Along her mantel were streams of lit-up garland that fell to the floor, as well as stockings.
Sitting on her wooden coffee table was a bouquet of pink flowers, and of course, a bottle of tequila from her brand 818 Tequila.
Kendall tagged 818’s official Instagram account in the corner of her photo.
The subsequent slide in her Stories was a video of her entire living room in full view.
