A DRIVER has revealed how long his vehicle has lasted without needing its original brake pads or motor fixed.
The TikTok creator is a self-proclaimed farmer who has over 75,000 followers on the app where he shares farm-related content in addition to videos showing him building and fixing things.
The creator behind the Tangled Vine Farm (@tangledvinefarm) account posted a clip with screen text over it: “It’s never broken down or had anything break.”
“So my car just rode over 200,000 miles,” the driver shared.
“And believe it or not, that’s on the factory brake pads and rotors.”
He said he hadn’t touched the brakes or rotors on the vehicle in 200,000 miles.
“I bought this car brand new in 2014,” the man shared.
“It’s a Toyota Corolla, six-speed stick shift and still gets 40 miles per gallon.”
He stated that he drives 80 miles each day.
“Half of that is highway,” the creator said.
“Half of that is city and the brakes are now due.”
Since he had to get brake work done, he said he would also get the rotors turned.
“I have new pads and that’ll get me going,” the TikToker said.
“All I’ve ever done was just basic maintenance on this car at the intervals that Toyota suggested.”
He emphasized that, since he bought it nine years ago, “it has not been back to a shop or back to the dealership since.”
At that point in the video, he showed the outside of the vehicle.
“I hope to get another 200,000 miles on it,” the car owner said.
“And maybe another 200,000 miles off the brake pads.”
