“Can’t Catch Me Now” from Olivia Rodrigo will appear on The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (Music From & Inspired By), the official soundtrack to the highly anticipated new film in The Hunger Games saga. The song is set to arrive tomorrow, November 3.
“Can’t Catch Me Now,” will serve as the opener to the 17-song soundtrack due out November 17 via Geffen Records (the same day as the movie’s release).
In addition to “Can’t Catch Me Now,” The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (Music From & Inspired By) includes a number of songs performed in the film by The Hunger Games star Rachel Zegler, as well as new music from some of folk/Americana’s most exciting and acclaimed young artists. “Can’t Catch Me Now” is featured in the latest trailer for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, which you can check out above.
Executive-produced by nine-time Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile, Sturgill Simpson), The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (Music From & Inspired By) also includes many of roots music’s most dynamic artists who contributed new songs inspired by the film. Along with Flatland Cavalry, those artists include Molly Tuttle, Billy Strings, Sierra Ferrell, Bella White, and Charles Wesley Godwin.
In other Rodrigo news, last month it was announced that she’ll share all four of her “secret” GUTS songs on a single record. The pop superstar took to social media to announce that her upcoming special vinyl for Record Store Day’s Black Friday celebrations will include four “secret tracks” that aren’t available on streaming platforms.
The “drivers license” star originally released four different versions of GUTS, each of which included one “secret” track. The new vinyl will include all four tracks for the first time. Rodrigo teamed with Jack White’s Third Man Records to press the four songs: “Obsessed,” “Scared of My Guitar,” “Stranger,” and “Girl I’ve Always Been.” Check out Rodrigo’s post here.
