Publisher 505 Games and developers Rabbit & Bear Studios and NatsumeAtari have announced a May 10, 2022 release date for action RPG Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox Game Pass, and PC via Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store. This game is a spinoff prequel to Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, an RPG funded on Kickstarter that is planned to launch in 2023. Hundred Heroes is being developed by some of the creators of Suikoden as a spiritual successor to that franchise.
However, Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is a 2.5D action RPG with town-building elements. The premise is that a huge earthquake wrecks a town but reveals treasures underneath for intrepid explorers. CJ, the Venerable Scavenger, and Garoo, the Beastman Mercenary, are two heroes hoping to find a source of magic called the Rune Lens underground. Meanwhile, a third hero, the Young Deputy Mayor named Isha, wants to rebuild the wrecked town of New Nevaeh. Materials you find underground will help Isha rebuild town. All three heroes will be playable with their own unique style as they explore the underground.
Players who own Rising when Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes launches will receive bonus cross-content, including “special cosmetic items, valuable equipment, and trade goods.”
On its release date next month, Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising will retail for $14.99.
