Huge Green Day news here! The band have just announced their 14th studio album, ‘Saviors’, and shared its lead single.
We’ve had plenty of teasing in recent months and now it’s been confirmed.
Green Day are set to release their brand-new album ‘Saviors’, which is set to arrive on January 19, 2024.
Their first full-length release since 2020’s ‘Father Of All Motherfuckers’, the new album has been heralded by the release of lead single ‘The American Dream Is Killing Me’.
The track was debuted at an intimate L.A. show last week, where the pop-punk legends were playing just prior to When We Were Young Festival, and where they also announced news of their 2024 US tour.
The tour will see them play an incredible stadium run along with The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid and The Linda Lindas.
The new track arrives with a noir-inspired video – directed by Brendan Walter and Ryan Baxley – which sees the band perform amid the middle of a zombie apocalypse.

According to the band, ‘The American Dream Is Killing Me’ was one of the last to be written and recorded for ‘Saviors’ but immediately struck a chord with the band, with Billie Joe Armstrong having said:
“As soon we cut it, we said, ‘Okay, that’s going first,’”
“[The track is] a look at the way the traditional American Dream doesn’t work for a lot of people – in fact, it’s hurting a lot of people.”
‘Saviors’ also sees the trio of Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool team up with Grammy-winning producer Rob Cavallo, who also worked with them on two of their most seminal albums: 1994’s ‘Dookie’ and 2004’s ‘American Idiot’.
Green Day are in fact set to celebrate the 30th anniversary of ‘Dookie’ early next year and have already announced a deluxe reissue, which will likely be just the start of celebrations.
