Citizen have announced brand-new album ‘Calling The Dogs’ and shared its first single ‘If You’re Lonely’.
‘Calling The Dogs’ is set for release on October 06.
The first taste of the new LP comes in the form of the terrific, nostalgic-sounding track ‘If You’re Lonely’.
The track is an introspective number that delves into lead singer Mat Kerekes’ own self-discovery.
Have a listen via its video below, which depicts a classic suburban neighbourhood setting.
Reflecting on the song’s emotional basis, Kerekes has said:
“I grew up around a narcissistic parent and absorbed a lot of that behaviour over time, negatively affecting people close to me.”
“‘If You’re Lonely’ is about recognising that, growing from it, and becoming a reliable shoulder to lean on.”
As well as a new single and album announcement, Citizen have revealed plans for a UK headline tour, taking place throughout February next year.
The band will be playing four special headline shows in the UK with support from Drug Church.
