Nothing But Thieves are heading for their first ever UK Number 1 album, according to early figures from the Official Charts Company.
The indie-rock five-piece released their fourth studio album ‘Dead Club City’ on Friday, June 30.
The Essex outfit – comprising Conor Mason, Joe Langridge-Brown, Dominic Craik, Philip Blake and James Price – have previously achieved consecutive Top 10 albums for their previous records.
2015’s self-titled debut achieved a 7th-place position; 2017’s ‘Broken Machine’ came in second; and 2020’s ‘Moral Panic’ peaked at three in the albums charts.
They might have come close in the past, but now it seems the band are set to finally bag a UK Number 1, with their latest album currently charting ahead of Fontaines D.C. frontman Grian Chatten’s debut solo album.
Elsewhere, Lil Uzi Vert’s new album ‘Pink Tape’ could debut at Number 3, which would mark the Philadelphia artist’s second UK Top 5 project.
‘Pink Tape’ has been noted for its fusion of rap and rock, not only featuring Bring Me The Horizon and BABYMETAL, but also covering System Of A Down’s nu-metal classic ‘Chop Suey!’.
