Skream Reveals "Skreamizm Vol. 8," Series' First Installation in Over a Decade

While bass music is in need of Skream the most, he’s fortunately answered the call.

The pioneering U.K. producer has been vocal in recent months about his intentions to return to dubstep after famously announcing his disillusionment with the movement he helped spark. “It’s the last dubstep show I’ll play until further notice,” he told the Daily Star in 2013. “Dubstep is just a name now. It doesn’t have a meaning any more and the movement is over.”

Since those comments, Skream has since had a change of heart, teasing a trove of new music in the works as well as a reunion tour with his longtime collaborator, Benga. He also released his first new dubstep record in a decade, the eerie “Summoned.”

Now, Skream is proving more than ever that he’s back for the long-run after announcing a tracklist for his upcoming Skreamizm Vol. 8 EP. The dubstep-focused series has served to timestamp different creative eras within Skream’s multi-decade career, though it has notably been over a decade years since its last installation.

While no release date has officially been announced, the reveal shows Skream’s readiness to start pushing dubstep to new heights again, and likely in the very near future. Check out the tracklist for Skreamizm Vol. 8 below.
