Al Roker evokes sweet memories to commemorate daughter Courtney’s second wedding anniversary to her husband, Wesley Laga.
The 68-year-old weather anchor has been through a tough time with his health issues over the past few months, but spending quality time with his loved ones, particularly his pregnant daughter Courtney— who tied the knot with her sweetheart on June 5th, 2021— has undoubtedly made up for those lost times.
Amid his return to work after knee surgery, the “Today” co-host showed just how much he loves his baby girl and her husband, Wesley, by paying an adorable tribute to them on their second wedding anniversary.
“Today” ‘s Al Roker Applauds Pregnant Daughter Courtney On Her Second Wedding Anniversary
On Monday morning, the celebratory day, the journalist chose to jot down an exciting note to Courtney and Wesley to celebrate their special day on Instagram. He shared a cute throwback wedding photo of the heartthrobs and a more recent shot of them. One other snap featured the father-daughter duo.
Without a doubt, the snapshots of the lovebirds encapsulate how much they love each other. They smiled happily at the camera and appeared cheerful to be in each other’s space. While the two looked brilliant in their wedding apparel for the first post, the second showed them in casual fits at their baby shower.
Wesley donned a navy-blue suit, a light pink T-Shirt underneath, and black office shoes. On the other hand, the recipe developer’s baby bump peeked through the deep pink long-sleeve gown. She opted for black flat sandals and no glam for the event.
The following pic showed the soon-to-be grandparent with his adorable kid at the same event. For his outfit, he styled his denim pants with a pink-colored shirt and suit jacket. The father of three also threw on a cream Fedora hat and glasses to complement his whole look. Alongside the lovely photos, the doting father wrote:
“2 years ago today, these two tied the knot. Today we celebrated their about to be here, baby girl. So excited.”
Fans, who know what a remarkable year it will be for Al and his loved ones, were quick to flood the comment section with beautiful remarks. “Awww, Congratulations…being a Grand-Parent is the absolute best!!! Enjoy her 🩷,” one person wrote.
Another commenter remarked, “You are in for the time of your life. No way to describe the joy of becoming a grandparent in words!” A third added, “CONGRATULATIONS almost, Granddad!.” Simultaneously, another fan was curious whether he would go by “Papa Al or Grampa.”
Luckily for fans, in March, the “Quest for Camelot” voice actor had already mentioned his preferred grandfather’s nickname when his beautiful daughter revealed her pregnancy news on social media.
Courtney shared a video set to a remix of Mariah Carey’s “Always Be My Baby” to her Instagram, sharing that she and her spouse were about to welcome their first child together.
The clip’s transitions showed scenes of the happy couple in various ensembles, postures, and gestures. Finally, the post gave a view of their baby’s sonogram. The black-and-white image displayed the fetus’ skull, nose, and mouth.
“A new adventure is about to begin,” the “Will & Grace” actor’s oldest daughter wrote in the caption with a heart and baby bottle emoji. The exciting announcement spurred an equally excited comment from the renowned weatherman. He added a follow-up remark, expressing that he would like to be called “Pop-Pop” by his grandchild.
The Weather Man Accidentally Learned Of The Gender Of His Unborn Grandchild
Last month, The Blast previously shared how the veteran weatherman found out the gender of his unborn grandchild. He stated that the secret was accidentally spilled too early by his daughter.
Last month, while attending the red carpet of the 31st Anniversary Gala of the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame Awards in New York City, Roker entertained an interview with ET on the red carpet.
He excitedly shared that Courtney is due this month, and he let slip the gender before reworking himself to say “grandchild.” During the interview, the TV personality added that he never wanted to know the gender initially but received a surprise.
Recounting when his daughter spilled the beans, he divulged that it all began with a plain text message. Roker said, “She [texted] me a sonogram picture, and I said, ‘That baby looks just like you,’ and she said, ‘Doesn’t she?’ And then you see the bubbles,” referring to the telltale ellipsis on chats when someone is typing.
The fantastic father continued, saying, “[She goes] ‘I’m so sorry!’ and I went, ‘You had one [job]!,” added humorously, “I wanted to be surprised.
