With the official premiere of the series just days away, HBO has released the “official” trailer for The Idol, the new series from Euphoria creator Sam Levinson that controversially premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in late May.

Coming out of Cannes with a 27% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, The Idol now boasts the lowest-ever RT score for an HBO series.

Nevertheless, HBO is full-steam ahead with the series and is using every weapon in their arsenal — namely Lily-Rose Depp — to get people to tune in.

Given that this is an official trailer for an HBO series that’s been uploaded to YouTube, it’s technically fair game, but we’d still be careful about where you decide to fire this one up, especially if you’re at your 9-5.

This certainly isn’t the first time that HBO has used Depp’s role in the series to promote the show as they previously posted a photo of her character — the rising pop star Jocelyn — in a skimpy bikini to their Twitter account. Similarly, Depp hasn’t been shy about the Jocelyn content she’s shared on Instagram.

The Idol, which is taking over HBO’s iconic 9 p.m. EST slot from Succession, will undoubtedly be the highest-profile role of Depp’s career thus far.

Prior to her starring role in the series, Depp has only starred in movies, appearing in projects such as Tusk and Yoga Hosers from Kevin Smith, The King, Crisis, Voyagers, Silent Night, and Wolf.

Her next role will also be a massive step up for Depp as she’ll star alongside Bill Skarsgard, Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corin, and Willem Dafoe in Robert Eggers’ remake of the legendary vampire film Nosferatu.

In addition to the 24-year-old Depp — who is, of course, the daughter of famed actor Johnny Depp and French model Vanessa Paradis — The Idol stars The Weeknd, Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Moses Sumney, Jane Adams, Dan Levy, Jennie Ruby Jane, Eli Roth, Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Mike Dean, Hank Azaria, Tyson Ritter, Anne Heche, and more.

If you want to keep up with Depp and her career, make sure to follow her on her Instagram account, where she currently has over 7 million followers. You can also check out the equally risque official teaser for The Idol below, too:
