Lip Filler release new single ‘Susie’ / Complete their self-titled debut EP Lip Filler.
Rising West London indie 5-piece Lip Filler have shared their latest single ‘Susie.’ The track is the final track from their self-titled debut EP Lip Filler. Released via Chess Club Records (Alfie Templeman, Phoebe Green, Coach Party) the track has become a highlight from their live shows.
Speaking more on the song’s lyrical inspiration, the band said:
“‘Susie’ is a song about post-Brexit Britain. It’s about older generations and the lack of attention they give to issues of the younger generations. The bar ‘Your breath smells like Persil’ is a nod to an old-school method of punishment where you would get your mouth washed out with soap. It’s these conservative patterns of thinking that still linger in our generation through hypocritical politicians and lawmakers, to impact society for the worst.”
Speaking more on their upcoming debut EP, the band said:
“Lip Filler is a project we’ve become so involved in that it’s basically completely taken over our lives. We’ve put every part of ourselves into the music that we write. It’s a projection of our living situation, how we’ve all changed as people over the past few years, and a reflection on the human aspect of us growing up in our flat together. What started out as a bunch of housemates pissing about in their living room getting noise complaints, has turned into something we are all so invested in and excited for.”
Lip Filler’s new single ‘Susie’ and the band’s debut EP Lip Filler are both out now via Chess Club Records.
