The eternal Queen of Pop took a bite out of the Big Apple Sunday night.
Madonna was spotted dining with “Ozark” actress Julia Garner — who was slated to play the musical icon in a now-shelved biopic — among others to celebrate photographer Steven Klein’s birthday at Journey in the Flatiron District.
The group had the entire restaurant to themselves around 10 p.m. and enjoyed the hot spot’s 360 room, where guests eat in a virtual zeppelin that travels over NYC, through volcanoes, underwater and into outer space by way of “floor-to-ceiling and tabletop 360 projection mapping.”
Photos exclusively obtained by The Post also showed Madonna, Garner and friends enjoying wine, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on leather couches in the lounge area.
Madonna, 64, was sporting orange hair and a pair of dark-colored gloves, and she posed with platinum-blonde Garner, 29, eating what appeared to be french fries.
On a break from grueling rehearsals for her much anticipated, global “Celebration Tour,” the “Hung Up” icon looked quite different than the often-filtered Instagram version of herself. She also appeared unbothered by the ongoing social media speculation over her always evolving look.
Twitter was ablaze with snarky star watchers saying they didn’t recognize Madonna after her now notorious “swollen surgery face” at the 2023 Grammys in February, with one sniping, “That can’t be her. Can it?”
A source told The Post at the time that the singer’s puffy look was a result of an obsession with her cheeks, adding: “She doesn’t realize that it’s making her look a bit like a caricature of herself.”
Although some insiders claimed Madonna was in a “crisis of confidence” after the critical remarks from the Twitterati, one of her oldest celebrity buddies said she’s unfazed by critics.
“She knows who she is, what she wants, what she wants to look like, what she wants to wear, what she wants to say,” the pop superstar’s “A League of Their Own” pal Rosie O’Donnell, 64, told Page Six exclusively. “And I think she’s strong enough to weather whatever complaints people have about her now and for always.”
Never one to shy away from a fight, Madonna herself hit back at haters who slammed her for “betraying” them.
“Once again I am caught in the glare of ageism and misogyny that permeates the world we live in. A world that refuses to celebrate women pass [sic] the age of 45 And feels the need to punish her If she continues to be strong-willed, hard-working, and adventurous,” she explained in a lengthy Instagram post.
“I have been degraded by the media since the beginning of my career but I understand that this is all a test and I am happy to do the trailblazing so that all the women behind me can have an easier time in the years to come,” she continued before quoting Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul.”
Meanwhile, although the biopic was put on the back burner by Universal Pictures last January, Madonna’s dinner date with the Emmy-winning Garner has teased that it’s on the borderline of a comeback amid insider reports that the “Vogue” icon wanted a “grittier” script.
“I don’t want to tell too much. I want to keep things… yeah, fingers crossed,” Garner, 29, told “Entertainment Tonight” at the time.
Madonna was set to direct and produce the project. She had also co-written its script and likened the process of cutting down source material to “hacking off my limbs.”
“I’ve had an extraordinary life, I must make an extraordinary film,” Madonna told Variety in July of 2022.
“It was also a preemptive strike because a lot of people were trying to make movies about me. Mostly misogynistic men. So I put my foot in the door and said, ‘No one’s going to tell my story, but me.’ “
But for now, she’s focusing on her upcoming world tour — with some insiders claiming she’s desperate to restore the face her fans remember fondly before hitting the concert stage.
“Despite what people think, the criticism over her drastically different appearance does affect her,” a source told Daily Mail.
The insider said that the “Like a Prayer” legend is allegedly undergoing procedures that will restore her natural features.
“She sees and hears what people say about her and, for the tour, she wants to look more like herself again for her fans,” the source added.
