In December, U2 frontman, Bono, announced that he would return to New York’s Beacon Theatre this spring to support his new memoir, SURRENDER: 40 Songs, One Story, for a run of eight shows. Due to overwhelming demand, the musician/author has tacked on three new dates.
The latest additions will see the Irish-born artist perform on the Big Apple stage come Thursday, May 4, followed by two consecutive live performances on May 7 and 8. Previously, Bono had shared that his run at The Beacon would occur on April 15, 17, 21, 22, 26, 29, and May 3.
Stories of Surrender was produced by Live Nation and directed by Willie Williams and presents the audience with stories and lessons from one of music’s most prominent international figures. During the program, Bono will present his successes while examining childhood challenges draped in insecurity and self-doubt to paint a picture of reality for the Irish-born singer, who forged success on stage.
Joining Bono during his Beacon Theatre run are Gemma Doherty (harp, keyboard, vocals) and Katie Ellis (cello, keyboard, vocals), in addition to Musical Director, Jacknife Lee. In a press release, the event has been described as “words, music and some mischief…”
Tickets for the latest Beacon Theatre dates will drop on Jan. 9 at 10 a.m. ET.
